Beauty Bar Vs. Glam Shop Marketing Engagement Analyzation
Marketing Engagement: Beauty Bar vs. Glam Shop
BEAUTY BAR
Beauty Bar's general tone for their website is friendly, upbeat, open, fun, and interactive. The Facebook page puts me in the mind of a girlfriend, sister, classmate or colleague that knows how to wine down relax and have a girls night out, accessing our beauty needs and having matching cocktails or services. Beauty Bar is very vocal in self promoting their own products and services that their customers enjoy, find entertaining, and relatable on their page. They keep customers engaged by posting at the minimum two post a week. Their posts include stylists development announcements, invitations on offers, artists work, new trends, and customer photos.
To engage with their customers they use comment, tag and share promotions. Bonuses for monies spent, percentage off scheduled appts, products discounts. My favorite promotions are the excting drinks that match the services. The green beer offered with services during St. Patrick's day, the Watermelon Basil Vodkatini Mani and Pedi; and the Apple Cider Mimosa with the Hot Apple Cider Soak Bourbon Sugar Scrub and Back Country Caramel Body Milk.
Surprisingly, I haven't seen any celebrity endorsements, influencers, or ambassadors outside of the bridal photos of custmers on their page. However they do use hashtags which include hashtag hair, nails, bridal, girls night out, bachelorette, cocktails, mani and pedi, and fun.
Beauty Bar engages me because my girlfriends and I love relaxing, enjoying a cocktail and being able to do it in one place is awesome. I feel like Beauty Bar is an autnentic brand is not just selling a product, but their services are as well. I can go to Beauty Bar's Facebook page every other week that I treat myself and find a promotion for a discounted service. Sometimes I like to try different services, and these promotions create value to me because they introduce me to new products or services that I enjoy, and if enjoyed majorly I'll be willing to pay full price in the future.
Glam Shop
The general tone of the Glam Shop's Instagram page is very vocal in a more personal manner. Considering the fact, the owner is a reality tv star, and all her friends are as well, the page is more of a community setting with the owners personalized views. The Glam Shop's Facebook page has no posts at all. All the engagement relies heavily on Instagram. The tone appeals more to an urban audience. Product promotion is only offered through a link in the bio. Glam Shop's Instagram posts show posted results of clients, but also classes to teach entrepreneurs the technique. Which I believe is a win-win promotion for the shop owner Sierra. The Glam Shop promotes its own products, advertisement of products and services from other businesses. I understand that Sierra posts many photo's of her dressed in a variety of clothing, makeup and hair from partners because she has a full service salon that produces services but use products other people.
The Glam Shop use some giveaways, it promotes mostly the work of the shop owner and offer dates to teach the technique in different states and cities. Glam Shop uses the promotions of VH1, celebrity friends, and the outstanding work of the owner to promote also. Feedback is welcomed through Direct Messaging and in the comments section. The Glam Shop posts everyday with it's followers and I like the engagement. However, I do think it comes across as too promotional and overly exposed. Sometimes putting you in the mind that the brand is not authentic although the services set standards across beauty salons in the same area.
The Glam Shop interests me because it amazes me to see the before and after pictures of beautifully performed services, that teach you how earn to income, by performing the services instead of holding the secret exclusively to the shop. It brings about corporate social responsibilities of inspiration and motivation that businesses want people in the community they serve to be like minded individuals by teaching them a trade.
The Glam Shop brings value to me because I love hair, makeup, and clean brows. I would love to see how much it costs for me to treat myself from time to time, but I can also amke a living off of making others feel just as wonderful by teaching them the same techniques. I wouldn't stop following the glam shop. I'm a huge fan of Sierra. Yes, because she is on Love and Hip Hop but also because of her struggles and strengths to become a successful business owner and entrepreneur.
